I am a teacher who want's students to become excited about reading. There are adventures to be had when you open the pages of a book. Some books may not work for all students and that is great. What a boring place is everyone read and liked the same books. My theory of teaching reading is to instill the discovery and excitement of finding a book you like and getting something meaningful out of the experience. Not all students in a class have to read the same books at the same time. Having book groups or a variety of options for your students creates a meaningful reading environment for your students. In this blog I have provided information for various types of books and different ways they could be incorporated into the classroom.
